One reason is that it is very sturdy. There are a few weak points, but that only makes it easier to simulate a mid-space "dogfight," so to speak. And yes, it saddens me to say that the canopies don't close all the way. The bombing feature is really cool, though. (That is what the ARC-170 was made for anyway.) It is a very neat set. ...more
[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-09-02 Summary: Liked it ... Over all I liked this kit. It looks like the ship it is portraying and was fun to build. One feature I didn't like was that, like some other Lego star wars sets, the cockpits aren't closed to the "vacuum of space". These are supposed to be *space* ships...I bugs me that I can see into the cockpits through open spaces without looking through the canopy. A few small modifications using my spare parts box fixed it though. ...more
