He was able to put them together with minimal help from me (just a little encouragement and a correction or two). It took him about an hour or so and held his attention completely. He's been playing with them for days. This is the first Lego set he's ever had besides some basic blocks made for the younger kids. I'm pretty sure this is going to be the start of an extensive Lego collection. ...more

Super easy to put together, stays together for playing with. Good value for the money. I rate lego sets on how fun they are to build, whether or not my son can build it alone (he's 7), can we play with it, really play with it, and how good are the extras (like lego dudes or accessories) ...more

The new colors here are great for my 3 1/2 year old girl. She plays with her brothers legos all the times, but these are uniquely hers. I also got here a 12x12 plate to assemble things on. Christmas Day they played with them for hours along with their daddy and uncle (my two grown sons) and they all four had a wonderful time. This was a gift my nephew adored and spent hours building and using. As an elemntary teacher, one can appreciate toys which use that architectural sense of spatial intelligence. [2] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-12-29 Summary: Pretty Cool for my 5 year old ... My 5-year old loves legos, and this one in particular, he built and took apart, then re-built, probably 4 times. He loves it. Only problem I have with it is that the only thing he really took interest in was the actual truck. The rest that is included with it didn't seem to keep his intereest and once he completed it a few times, he moved on to something else.... which meant he wanted more legos. And legos aren't cheap! ...more

He put half of it together last night by himself and completed the rest this morning waking before 6 a.m. to do so. He absolutely loves this police vehicle. I love that he can follow directions to build it, strengthen fine motor skills with small parts and use imaginative play. It is now about noon and he has not stopped playing with this toy. He chose this at the store when he got some money saved up. I thought it would end up laying around the house, but I was wrong! He has had a blast with this set. He had recently "discovered" the Indiana Jones movie series and wanted to collect the related LEGOs kits. It was fairly easy for him to put together, but he really enjoys that it mirrors the movie so well and pieces move - statues topple, snakes fall down, etc. He's taken it apart and put it back together several times, and he's even used other LEGOs pieces to enhance the scene. It took us almost an hour to put it together and I was very impressed that it maintained my son's attention. He normally has a very short attention span and I think that this will be a nice training tool to help increase his patience and attention span. He spent about 8 hours putting it together Christmas Day, only needing minor help once or twice, and hardly looked at any other present until he finished it. The characters go fantastic with this lego. In my opinion the turrents are the best part of this lego. Although why did the model makers have to make parts to the inside temporary? The two seats can be pulled out and are not attached. Although you can make it attached by adding a 2x4 piece to it.
