The one legged pirate is super cute. This is one of my son's first sets of Legos and we are very happy with it. We plan on getting him the other Brickmaster sets now too. ...more

They give detailed instructions to make several items with the included legos. They also store nicely. They store like a book in the bookshelf. There is a box connected to the hard back book, and they all store nicely. My son plays with these almost every day. He has had them almost a month. I definitely will buy the rest of the sets. ...more

Even my 5 year old can follow some of the steps since they are all pictures. I wish you could make more than one item without taking apart your previous creation though. So, for Christmas we sent him a book of Lego. Went down very well, and our nephew has been happily playing and creating to his heart's content. Sure the book is completely unnecessary (in my day it was a folded up piece of paper with the instructions shoved into the box...), but hey - it looks cool, and its just a novel way of doing it that makes it unique and special. ...more

My wife teaches robotics to kids in her school's evening clubs and also in various summer robotic camps in Silicon Valley CA, We bought this for teaching kids grades 5 thru' 8 and found that it has excellent resource for the teacher and kids alike. This book as an interesting storyline to read which gets kids involved into robotic designs rather than cookie cutter instructions that we usually find in other books. Looking for a birthday gift (15th birthday) for my son that would spark some interest to do something besides playing video games led me to this Lego product and I must say the venture was successful. This was the first Mindstorms book that I read and it was really easy to understand and got me off to a quick start. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars was that the graphics and text are printed on an off white background and it made it a little harder to read and the graphics themselves are all black and white and some of them were a little hard to figure out the robot designs because of it.
